Why Did I Stop Using Social Media in 2017?

Hello, dear friends!

Many of you have probably noticed that since 2017, my social media accounts have stopped updating. Today, I want to share the reasons behind this decision and explain why maintaining social media is no longer important to me.

Reevaluation of Priorities

At a certain point, I realized that social media was taking up too much time and energy. Constantly updating statuses, scrolling through news feeds, and responding to messages shifted my focus and priorities. I understood that this time could be used more productively—for self-development, working on interesting projects, and communicating with loved ones in real life.

Focus on Real Relationships

Social media creates an illusion of communication, but often these are superficial contacts. I decided to focus on strengthening real relationships. Personal meetings and face-to-face interactions bring much more joy and benefit than virtual “likes” and comments.

Protection of Personal Information

The issue of online privacy is becoming increasingly relevant. I’m uncomfortable with how my personal data is used online and who can access it. Stepping back from active social media use has allowed me to better control my privacy.

Increasing Productivity

Without constant notifications and the temptation to check the news feed, I noticed a significant increase in productivity. It became easier to focus on tasks, achieve set goals, and develop new skills.

Conclusion

My decision to give up social media was a conscious and deliberate step.
This has allowed me to live a fuller and richer life, focusing on the things that are truly important to me.
